Plus, I've been focusing on getting some serious rest this week and it has totally paid off! Thanks to everybody who has been praying for me to get some extra rest this week- it's definitely been answered! Yesterday, even as the day went on, I felt really great! And now last night I slept 9 wonderful hours! (So of course I feel great this morning so far!) Mike said to me yesterday, in response to my "feeling good" comments... "Well good! You're carrying my baby... I want you to be 'good'!"
Lots of pics from the coming weekend I'm sure, so I'll post in the next few days :)
Have a great time with your friends and family on this long weekend- drop me a comment and tell me what you are doing!

So this week baby is the size of a lime. Baby's fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and things like fingernails, toenails and tooth buds are forming this week. It's just so amazing to think about all the miraculous things happening inside my body all day, every day, and that every single person ever born went through the same things in their own mother's womb. So cool!
I'm feeling okay this week, and once again, I hate to complain at all... I just keep waiting for my energy to return! I've gotten into a pretty good routine of taking it easy in the evenings after work, and our weekends have been relatively uneventful for much of the past month, so it wasn't until this past weekend that I noticed how much the smaller things take a toll on me these days! Mom and I went shopping for just a few hours in the morning on Saturday, and even that made me so tired when we were done!
It's getting harder to ignore the ever growing bump, which seems to expand nearly every morning when I wake up! Though I'm sure to the average person, I just look a little more round and not neccessarily pregnant yet. I'll take another picture this weekend, probably at Andy and Daria's wedding (maybe I'll get somebody else to take it so Mike can get in there with me too- he hasn't made enough appearances on this blog yet!) And in the meantime, I'm just trying to rest as much as I can before the busy weekend ahead, and keep praying that everybody's promises that "you feel so much more like yourself in the second trimester" come true!

Everything checked out great at the doctor's appointment. I've only gained a little less than a pound since my first weigh-in last month, most likely due to my "evening sickness" over the past few weeks, that has thankfully subsided! (We'll see if I actually log my overall weight gain as things pick up in the coming months, I make no promises, haha)
And baby is the size of a small plum this week, for those of you interested in how the baby's growing. Basically the only update my book gave me on baby this week is that he or she is "starting to look more human". Well that's good :)

What to expect when you're expecting states that 7 out of 10 pregnant women experience "runaway emotions" during pregnancy. I guess I just thought I was one of the 3 that wouldn't :(
That was, until today... I realized "runaway emotions" were in fact going to be something I experience in pregnancy.
Little baby, I love you so very much already, and oh my, are you taking me for a wild ride!

Yes, today I do in fact feel extra pregnant.
Will most days be "extra pregnant" days from here on out? We'll have to wait and see...
I'm thankful for the extra pregnant days, because they remind me of all the important work my body is doing. And I do look forward to many more!

Last week, both baby and Bear received some very thoughtful gifts from our friends. We usually don't buy squeaky dog toys (based on the fact that they squeak and squeak and squeak) so it's been awhile since Chez had one. Here she is above, squeaking away with joy while she and Mike have fun playing. Thanks Holly and fam, for giving Bear what is probably her last squeaky toy, because I have determined this is NOT a toy I would give a dog if I had a sleeping baby in the house! Squeak away, Chez, you've got about 7 months of squeaky joy left :)
